CD-i Games Rarity Rating / A-C
>> Sunday, January 25, 2009
Okay then guys, this is going to be the definitive series on CD-i game rarity that we shall thrash out over the coming weeks. It will kick off with all of us listing the games and how rare we believe they are. Some I have not given a rating at all and have just put a question mark (?) because I am honestly not sure about those specific titles even after working on the CD-i for over years now!! Some will probably be regional releases that we're not too sure about such as Lingo, which is a Dutch release. Post below and rate the games as follows:
1 - 4 = Fairly common and easy to find.
5 - 7 = Stepping up the rankings and would be a CD-i title any respectable collection would have.
8 - 10 = These are the rare to ultra rare CD-i games that you wish you had!!
Also inform us of your influences over the rarity ratings, for example if you go to the used goods shops in your local area or perhaps visit the regional ebay (please specify which i.e. American, British, Dutch etc etc...) and tell us where you come from.
For Interactive Dreams it would be:
Location: The Netherlands
Influences: ebay (American, British, Dutch, German), web based retailers and used goods stores in The Netherlands.

Nice to see this much needed rarity rating.
This guide may boast CD-i collecting, would be nice to see it complete and possibly with some price examples as well.
IMO this list highly overrates games. For example Creature Shock is definitely not an R10. The Digitpress rating of 6 is much more believable. An R10 should be nearly impossible to get ...
Interesting, Shroo-man! I'd like to invite you to tell me what you think that would better suit the games. Making this list always means it is subjective to what you think how rare a title might be. I think Creature Shock is a pretty rare title and the amount of people who are willing to pay more money for it is pretty high compared to games like Micro Machines. Whether it's a 10 I also doubt, especially now we know even more rare games exist like Sharaku and the Smurfs... If you have additions, I'd love to hear them. The start of these posts is mainly meant to start a discussion and it's definately not the final list on how rare a title is.
yeah it is rare but one of the more common rare games. i'm just saying it doesn't make sense giving it a 10 because then what rating would you give the really rare games - also 10?
it is a good idea its just that whoever made was too liberal with ratings. the majority of games should have a rating 1-3. the rest should be 4-6 games like Creature Shock, Zelda's Adventure, the rarer ALG games. Very few games should be rated 7-9 and R10 should be reserved for one of a kind games.
Christmas Crisis a 10?
I would probably give it a 3. Really common in my experience.
Hi! Perhaps your're right, by now. This list was made in 2009...
